Meet Dr. Amir Lamei

Dr. Amir Lamei, a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, has given the highest commitment to excellence by becoming a Board Certified orthodontist. Less than 30% of orthodontists have this distinction. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and orthodontic degree from the Medical College of Georgia. While in dental school, Dr. Lamei was one of eight students from his class to be inducted as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He was also inducted as a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and Alpha Upsilon Phi Honor Society, and he served as president of the American Student Dental Association.

From a young age, he has been a part of our Marietta and East Cobb community, having attended Mt. Bethel Elementary School, Dickerson Middle School and Walton High School.

Dr. Lamei enjoys staying involved with organized dentistry. He is President of the Georgia Association of Orthodontists and past president of the Georgia Orthodontist Foundation. He is a member of the Southern Association of Orthodontists Scientific Committee and an alternate delegate for the Northwestern District of the Georgia Dental Association. He and his wife, Lisa, have two sons and a daughter, Kian, Niko and Layla. They enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends. In his free time Dr. Lamei enjoys practicing and teaching martial arts, in which he holds fourth-degree black belts in Shotokan Karate and Taekwondo.
